Tagging your phone pictures with the GPS location

Having GPS picture tagging makes your trip timeline photos more interesting

In the timeline picture shown, clicking the globe will take you the exact spot in Google Maps the picture was taken. Note how the green framed Google pic matches up with our original pic. No change since 2006!!

Android Devices

Usually this is automatic when you get your phone. To see if it is turned on for Android devices, open up a recent picture and click on the ellipsis. If you get a Map then GPS tagging is on.

If you don't get the map then we need to turn GPS tagging on. Turn on your phone camera and click on the drop down

Click on the "Settings" icon, then click on the "Save Location" switch

... and you're all set!

iPhone/iOS Devices

Click on the "Settings" icon, then on "Privacy"

Click on "Location Services" and then "Camera"

Click on "While Using the App", and you're all set!

Test it

Next time you upload a Photo to your trip timeline click on the ellipsis and verify you have the "Globe" icon!
